Symphony institute of music is established in the fond memory of our beloved father Sh. Ashok Malik, who was always fascinated towards music as a child. He left his house in 1984 at the age of 16 years, with a dream to learn music, initially he was unable to find a guru, who would teach him,due to his financial constraints. Later, he became the shishya of ustaad jaswant singh bhanwra ji, who was pleased to accept him as his student and impart him knowledge for 10 years. he served his guru and continued to learn various instruments like harmonium, tabla, dholak, accordion and many other instruments. He was very fond of creating music compositions. He gave music in more than 1000+ albums (cassettes). He was also selected by T-series, HMV, Tips, finetone, saga  and many more music companies.
He gave hit music’s in many singers songs like sonu nigam, Anuradha Podwal, master saleem, Mohd sadeeq, Kuldeep manak, surinder shinda and many more. he always wanted to spread music world wide, as he believed that any music learner must not be deprived from learning the art of music . he believed that an artist is always immortal and lives in  his art pieces forever. he inspired both his sons and started teaching them music at an early age of 4 years while Mrs. Praveen malik, ensured that their sons carry forward their father’s legacy in music by following his footsteps
